School Uniform and Identity Card Guidelines

School Uniform and Identity Card Guidelines

At Sowma Public School, we believe that wearing a uniform instills a sense of pride, equality, and discipline among students. It reflects the school’s identity and promotes a sense of belonging and unity.

To maintain consistency and uphold the decorum of the institution, the following uniform and ID card guidelines must be strictly followed:

General Grooming and Appearance

  • Boys must maintain short and tidy haircuts.
  • Girls must have neatly braided hair (if long), tied with black ribbons.
  • Uniform must be worn with dignity and discipline, representing the values of Sowma Public School at all times.

Sports Uniform

  • A separate sports uniform is provided based on house allocation (Alphard, Canopus, Diadem, Plasma).
  • Students must wear their sports uniform on Wednesdays and during physical education sessions, matches, or sports-related activities.

Identity Card Guidelines

  • All students must wear their school identity card around the neck throughout the school hours and while commuting to and from school via school or private transport.
  • Loss or damage of the ID card must be reported immediately to the school office. A written request must be submitted by parents for a duplicate ID card.
  • Parents will also be issued a Parent ID Card. Entry into the school premises for PTMs, visits, or child pickup will be allowed only upon showing this ID card.
  • The ID card must be updated in case of changes in address, phone number, or any other vital information.

Uniform Guidelines

  • Wearing the complete school uniform is mandatory on all working days, during school events, special classes, and parent-teacher meetings (PTMs).
  • Students must come to school in clean, well-ironed, and properly fitted uniforms.
  • Shoes and socks must be worn as per the prescribed color and style.
  • Uniforms must not be altered in design, fit, or appearance. Fashion alterations will not be permitted.
  • Long nails, nail polish, fancy hairstyles, jewelry, or accessories are strictly not allowed.

By adhering to the above guidelines, students contribute to the school's culture of discipline, respect, and unity. Parents are requested to ensure their children follow these rules sincerely and consistently.
