Discipline and Student Code of Conduct

At Sowma Public School, discipline is considered the cornerstone of a successful academic environment. We aim to instill self-regulation, respect, and responsibility among students, fostering a culture that promotes integrity and excellence. To maintain a safe, respectful, and productive school atmosphere, students are expected to adhere to the following conduct guidelines:

Punctuality and Attendance

  • Students must report to school by 9:15 a.m. sharp. Latecomers will not be allowed entry without valid reasons.
  • Habitual tardiness will be viewed seriously and may result in disciplinary measures.

Conduct and Behavior

  • Students must maintain decorum in class, corridors, buses, and playgrounds.
  • Respect for teachers, fellow students, and non-teaching staff is expected at all times.
  • Any act of physical aggression, verbal abuse, bullying, or disrespect will lead to strict disciplinary action.
  • The school maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying, including cyberbullying, name-calling, or spreading rumors.

Movement and Permission

  • Students must not leave the classroom without prior permission.
  • Leaving the school premises during school hours without authorization is strictly prohibited.

Academic Integrity

  • Students must refrain from any form of cheating during tests or exams. Those found guilty will face disqualification and other disciplinary measures.
  • Submission of plagiarized or copied assignments is not acceptable.

Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly banned within the school premises:

  • Mobile phones, smart watches, cameras, expensive pens or gadgets
  • Tobacco, cigarettes, gutka, drugs, alcohol, or any intoxicants

Any student found in possession of such items will face immediate suspension or expulsion.

Vandalism and School Property

  • Students must take care of school property and infrastructure.
  • Damaging or defacing walls, furniture, books, or laboratory equipment is a punishable offense.
  • Parents will be held financially responsible for any willful damage caused by their child.

Uniform and ID Card

  • Students must come to school in complete, clean, and well-ironed uniform along with their school ID card.
  • Uniform is mandatory even on special classes, school visits, or PTMs.
  • Sports uniform must be worn on designated days and during sports events.

Smoking, Drugs, and Substance Abuse

  • The school campus is a tobacco-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free zone.
  • Any student found indulging in such activities will be immediately rusticated, as per CBSE norms.
